NIS parking

Driving Your Children to School

Families are welcome to pick up and drop off their children from the upper parking lot. The following expectations apply to pick up and drop off at NIS:

  • Follow the speed limit: 7km per hour

  • Display your sign that is described above: Always display your sign in the front window of your car for each car registered with NIS. It should be clearly visible at all times while engaged in parking, pick up or drop off on the NIS campus.

  • Designated Zones Only: Use only the designated zones for dropping off and picking up your child.

  • Supervised Walking: Never allow your child to walk unaccompanied across the parking lot or through parked cars.

  • Exiting the parking lot: Consider turning left when exiting the parking lot to ease your journey during peak times. A balanced mix of cars turning left and right can significantly improve the flow of traffic for all, especially when the hill leading up to the parking lot is congested.

Pick Up and Drop Off

Pick up Times:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 15:10-15:40
Wednesday: 13:40-14:20

  • Pulling into a parking space: Avoid arriving to park during these times unless you need to enter campus. The pick up rotary flow is the priority at all times. If parking is necessary, arrive before 15:10 (or 13:45 on Wednesdays) or after 15:40 (or 14:20 on Wednesdays)

  • Pulling out from a parking space: Do not pull out from your parking space unless the rotary flow of traffic is clear. In the interest of safety and traffic congestion, the flow of traffic takes priority over all parked cars at all times. Do not stop the traffic flow to exit.

ELC Pickup Priority (Yellow Signs):
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 15:10-15:25
Wednesday: 13:40-13:55

  • Restricted to Yellow Signs: During this time, cars with yellow ELC signs have priority. Students in Grades 1-12 (green and blue signs) should avoid arrival during the ELC pick up time.

Dropoff Times:
All Days: 8:05-8:20

  • Pulling into a parking space: Avoid arriving to park during these times unless you need to enter the campus. The drop-off rotary flow has priority.

  • Pulling out from a parking space: Do not pull out from your parking space unless the rotary flow of traffic is clear. Do not stop the traffic flow to exit.
