Explore, Create, Compete, Lead
At NIS, learning in the classroom is only part of the student experience.
Our Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) program provides opportunities for students to explore interests, pursue passions, build friendships, develop leadership skills, and contribute to the community. Whether students are performing on stage, competing in athletics, leading service initiatives, designing robots, debating ideas, or creating works of art, CCAs help students discover new strengths and interests while developing skills that extend far beyond a single activity.
Co-Curricular Activities are offered in three rotations throughout the school year, giving students multiple opportunities to explore different interests and activities.
Rotation 1: Early September – Mid-November
Rotation 2: Mid-November – End of February
Rotation 3: Early March – Mid-May
With opportunities across arts, athletics, service, leadership, academics, and practical skills, students are encouraged to try new experiences, challenge themselves, and find the activities that inspire them.

Secondary CCAs provide opportunities for students to pursue their passions, develop leadership skills, and contribute to the school community through athletics, clubs, and service.
More than Just a Club or Activity
Co-curricular activities are about more than filling time after school. They provide opportunities for students to develop confidence, build relationships, discover new talents, and contribute to something larger than themselves.
Many of our activities are shaped by the interests and passions of our students and teachers, creating a dynamic program that evolves from year to year. Students are encouraged to explore new opportunities, take healthy risks, and pursue activities that help them grow as learners, leaders, teammates, and community members.

A Culture of Participation
Participation is an important part of student life at NIS. These experiences reflect the vibrant culture of involvement that exists throughout our school community.
Learning to Lead
Many NIS activities offer students opportunities to take on leadership roles and make meaningful contributions to the school community.
Secondary students may help organize activities, mentor younger students, lead clubs, and support service initiatives under the guidance of faculty advisors. These experiences help students develop communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills while making a positive impact on others.
Something of Interest for Everyone
Because many activities are inspired by the interests and expertise of our students and staff, offerings change throughout the year and evolve over time.
Students may choose from opportunities such as choir, theatre, art, robotics, coding, environmental action, cooking, public speaking, chess, athletics, service projects, cultural clubs, wellness activities, and much more. This variety encourages students to explore new interests while continuing to develop existing passions.
