Nagoya International School welcomes families from across Nagoya and the surrounding region. Our comprehensive bus service helps make an NIS education accessible by providing safe, reliable transportation between home and school each day.
With multiple routes serving communities across the region, students travel comfortably while parents have confidence that their children are cared for throughout their journey.
A Comfortable Start to the School Day
For many students, the journey to NIS becomes a familiar and enjoyable part of their daily routine. Students often use the time to read, chat with friends, listen to music, or simply relax before and after the school day. With comfortable buses, experienced drivers, and a supportive environment, the journey becomes a natural extension of the school day.

Choosing the right school is one of them. That's why families from across Nagoya, neighboring prefectures, and around the world choose NIS. They aren't simply looking for the closest school. They're looking for the right one, a place where their child will be known, challenged, and prepared for a future without limits.
Service Areas
NIS offers an extensive bus network that includes eight routes serving 33 stops throughout the Nagoya area, making it easier for families to access NIS from a wide range of communities.
For the safety of our students, we do not make our bus routes publicly available. In general, our bus services include routes in the middle and southern parts of the city and travel through major neighbourhoods in the Nakka-ku, Showa-ku, Nagakute, Nisshin,Chikusa-ku and Meito-ku wards.
For students participating in athletics, performing arts, clubs, or other after-school activities, a late bus to Issha Station allows them to enjoy the full NIS experience while still having reliable transportation home.
Designed for Student Safety
Student safety is our highest priority. Every aspect of our transportation service has been carefully designed to provide families with peace of mind.
Our buses are equipped with seatbelts for every passenger, and all drivers are fully licensed to operate large passenger buses. Drivers complete annual medical examinations and participate in the same child safeguarding training required of all NIS staff, ensuring they understand the school's commitment to student safety and well-being.
Each bus is equipped with first-aid supplies, emergency communication systems, and established procedures for responding to medical situations, vehicle breakdowns, or natural disasters. NIS works closely with our transportation partner to ensure students are supported safely in every situation.
