NIS Online

NIS is Inquiring, Inspiring and Impacting Online!

COVID-19 and the NIS Response

Based on data collected and along with input and information from our families, staff, local and international government agencies such as Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya City, the local Boards of Education, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, and our colleagues in other JCIS schools throughout Japan, NIS has decided to continue our current online teaching platform and not return to on-campus learning any earlier than May 14. This decision was made in the best interest of the health and well-being of all of the members in our community and we apologize for the inconvenience.

We are routinely consulting with the above schools and organizations, and will continue to carefully consider guidelines put out by the Japanese government regarding a decision about returning to on-campus learning. Of course, our top priority has been and will remain, the health and well-being of our school community when making these decisions.

In the meantime, below is all the information regarding “NIS Online”, first uploaded in early March, when the shift to online learning occurred. All of the materials are available in English, Japanese, and Portuguese.

Around the world, the situation is still very fluid, but the school is committed to keeping our community informed in a clear and timely manner. We will update this page whenever new information becomes available, and we thank you for your understanding.

Campus Access During the COVID-19 Pandemic

These policies HERE will be adjusted on an ongoing basis in response to the evolving situation and in alignment with local and international governmental guidance. Please understand that even though students will not be returning to face-to-face classroom learning at this time, we ask everyone to follow these policies to make it possible for an eventual return to campus.
