Where are you living now?
Tokyo, Japan – with my husband and our beloved cat.

What kind of work are you doing?
I serve as the President of the Japan entity and the Asia Pacific Commercial Lead at Mozarc Medical, a global medical device company specializing in dialysis solutions. I’m also a member of the company’s Global Senior Leadership Team, helping to shape our global strategy and culture. My career has always centered around the medical device industry, and I’ve remained passionate about advancing care for patients and their families.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
What I enjoy most is being able to connect a strong sense of purpose—improving lives—with tangible, strategic impact. I also find great joy in working with diverse, talented teams across Asia Pacific, and in creating an environment where we grow not just as professionals, but as human beings.

Currently, Mozarc is undergoing a major transformation. After spinning off from a large organization, we are now building a startup dedicated entirely to renal care. It’s a phase filled with challenges, but also filled with meaning. Through this process, I’ve come to deeply appreciate the value of working with people I trust—and how much stronger we become when diverse voices come together to co-create something better.

What kind of challenges does it hold for you?
Leading transformation across culturally and economically diverse markets is both complex and rewarding. We’re not just redefining our go-to-market strategies—we’re redefining who we are as a company. That includes empowering teams through ambiguity, finding clarity in chaos, and holding onto our shared purpose when the path ahead isn’t always clear.

This journey has also been a personal one. Both of my parents passed away relatively young. My father, in his final years, was a dialysis patient. Because of that, my commitment to this field isn’t just professional—it’s emotional. I want to build a company that makes a difference in the lives of patients like my father, and in the lives of the families who care for them. And I want to do that together with others who share that belief. That is my mission.

Of course, it’s not easy. Starting something new never is. But I’m convinced we can do it—because we have each other.

Did NIS help you prepare for your current position in any way?
Definitely. NIS helped me develop a global mindset, the ability to understand and respect different perspectives, and the courage to lead with empathy and authenticity. Those are qualities I use every single day as a leader.

Recently, I had the opportunity to visit NIS again. Mr. Olson-Kikuchi warmly welcomed not only me but also members of my company, and gave us a thoughtful tour of the campus. I was amazed by how much the facilities have evolved since my time—but also deeply moved by how much the educational philosophy has remained unchanged. That visit reminded me of how the values I learned at NIS still live inside me. I felt immense gratitude to my parents for placing me in this environment, and to all the teachers and classmates who helped shape who I am today.

What’s the one thing that you are really enjoying or most excited about these days?
I’m excited about building an organization that values both social contribution and human growth. After completing my MBA in 2022, I gained renewed clarity on my purpose: to contribute to the well-being of patients—and of my colleagues—through meaningful business. That conviction is what guides me today.

More than ever, I find joy in the small, powerful moments: the feeling of progress in a tough negotiation, the laughter shared after a long day, or the quiet thank-you from someone I work with. I’m also incredibly grateful to my husband, my family, and our cat—who never fails to make me smile, even in the most challenging times.

What’s the one thing you miss most about NIS?
I miss the warmth of the NIS community, the beautifully diverse environment, and the feeling that you could truly be yourself while learning from others. NIS was a place where individuality was not only accepted, but celebrated. That sense of belonging has stayed with me ever since.

Lastly, what words of wisdom do you have for today’s Dolphins?
Don’t be afraid to pause and ask yourself what truly matters to you. That quiet inner voice—your values, your dreams—is worth listening to. Even if the path ahead seems uncertain, let that voice guide you.

Leadership doesn’t begin with a title—it begins with self-awareness, and the courage to act with intention.

現在はどんなお仕事をされていますか？
私は、腎臓治療に特化した医療機器のグローバル企業「Mozarc Medical」にて、日本法人の代表を務めるとともに、アジア太平洋地域の商業戦略リードを担当しています。また、グローバルのシニア・リーダーシップチームの一員として、全社的な戦略や企業文化の形成にも携わっています。これまで一貫して医療機器業界に身を置き、患者さんとそのご家族のケア向上に情熱を注いできました。

お仕事の中で最もやりがいを感じるのはどんなときですか？
人生をより良くするという明確な目的意識と、それを戦略的かつ具体的なインパクトに結びつけられることに、大きなやりがいを感じています。また、アジア太平洋地域の多様で才能あるチームと協働すること、そして、プロフェッショナルとしてだけでなく一人の人間としても共に成長できる環境づくりに、喜びを感じています。

現在、Mozarcは大きな変革の真っ只中にあります。大企業からスピンオフし、腎臓治療に特化したスタートアップとして新たな道を歩み始めました。多くの挑戦に直面しながらも、それ以上に意義深いフェーズです。このプロセスを通じて、信頼できる仲間と共に働くことの価値、そして多様な声が集まることで、より良い未来を共創できるという力強さを、あらためて実感しています。

どんなチャレンジがありますか？
文化的・経済的に多様な市場で変革をリードすることは、非常に複雑でありながら、大きなやりがいがあります。私たちは単に市場戦略を見直しているのではなく、「私たちは何者か」という存在そのものを再定義しているのです。不確実な状況の中でチームの力を引き出し、混沌の中にこそ意味を見い出し、道が見えにくいときこそ、共有する目的に立ち返る。そんな毎日を過ごしています。

この旅路は、私にとって個人的にも深い意味を持っています。私は両親を比較的若くして亡くし、父は晩年に透析治療を受けていました。その経験があるからこそ、この仕事は単なる職業ではなく、私にとって感情的にも大きな使命です。父のような患者さん、そしてそのご家族の人生に少しでも違いを生み出せる会社をつくりたい。そして、その思いを共有する仲間たちと共に、実現していきたい。それが、私のミッションです。

もちろん、簡単な道のりではありません。新しいことを始めるのは、いつの時代も容易ではない。でも、私たちには仲間がいる。だからこそ、乗り越えていけると、私は信じています。

NISでの経験が、今の仕事に役立っていると感じますか？
間違いなく、そう感じています。NISでは、グローバルな視点、多様な価値観を理解し尊重する姿勢、そして共感と誠実さをもってリードする勇気を育みました。リーダーとして、今も毎日その学びを活かしています。

最近、久しぶりにNISを訪れる機会がありました。Mr. Olson-Kikuchiが、私だけでなく会社の同僚たちも温かく迎えてくださり、心のこもったキャンパスツアーをしていただきました。施設の進化には驚きましたが、それ以上に、教育に対する根本的な哲学が変わっていないことに深く感動しました。

NISで培った価値観が今も自分の中にしっかりと生きているとあらためて感じ、この環境に導いてくれた両親、そして共に学んだ先生方やクラスメートへの感謝の気持ちがこみ上げてきました。

最近、楽しみにしていることやワクワクしていることはありますか？
社会への貢献と、人としての成長の両方を大切にする組織をつくることに、日々ワクワクしています。2022年にMBAを取得して以降、「患者さん、そして共に働く仲間たちのウェルビーイングに、意味のあるビジネスを通じて貢献したい」という思いが、さらに明確になりました。今、その信念を軸に仕事をしています。

最近は、日々の中の小さな喜びをより深く感じています。難しい交渉の中で一歩前進したときの達成感、長い一日の後にチームと笑い合う時間、仲間からの静かな「ありがとう」。そういった瞬間に、大きな力をもらっています。そして、どんなときも笑顔をくれる夫や家族、そして猫の存在に、心から感謝しています。

NISで一番恋しいものは何ですか？
NISのコミュニティの温かさ、多様性にあふれた環境、そして自分らしくいられる場所であったことが、何よりも恋しいです。NISは、「自分らしさ」が受け入れられ、むしろ大切にされる場所でした。その「居場所感」は、今でも私の中に残っています。

最後に、今のNIS生たちに伝えたいメッセージをお願いします。
時には立ち止まって、「自分にとって本当に大切なことは何か」を考えてみてください。その静かな内なる声―あなたの価値観や夢―に耳を傾けることは、とても大切です。たとえこれからの道がはっきり見えなくても、その声があなたを導いてくれます。

リーダーシップは、肩書きから始まるものではありません。自分を深く理解し、意図をもって行動する勇気から始まります。
