Scholarship Application Process (Current Families)

Application forms are required to be submitted annually (scholarships@nis.ac.jp)

• Families should start the application process by completing this online form HERE, to help the Scholarship Office track progress of each application.
• Download the "Needs-Based Scholarship Application Form" (PDF).

Current NIS families wishing to apply for scholarships for the first time for the next academic year must initiate the application process by April 6 for consideration for annual tuition scholarships as part of the re-enrollment process.

Applications will not be considered until all required documentation has been submitted, including tax documents.

As in previous applications, parents must identify ALL income sources anticipated for the school year, including support from family, friends, and relatives and provide accurate figures from the most recent taxation period.

Certified “Income and Tax Statement/Certificate issued by the local government must also be submitted, and the statement should represent the year ending the previous December 31.

The Scholarship Committee will determine if an interview is needed again

Notification regarding a scholarship award will be sent to applicants as soon as possible from the Scholarship Office. Any appeal of a decision should be immediate and should follow these steps: Clarify and confirm the decision by contacting the Scholarship Committee; If the concern is not resolved, submit a written request to the Head of School for reconsideration of the application.
