20-21 Admissions Information
Thank you once again for your interest in NIS. We look forward to welcoming you to our community soon. Below is some information pertaining to the admissions process that may be helpful for families.
The interview with the principals and the applicant families is the last requirement within the admissions process. This is meant to be a family meeting with one of the principal, the parents and the student(s). The interview is conducted in English; if needed, parents can arrange to bring a translator on their own f they feel it is needed. It is expected that both parents attend the interview, as it is an important, final part of the admissions process and also the beginning of the transition process for the applicant and the family into our school community.
After the admissions process has been completed (which includes any testing and the interview) the school will determine admissions eligibility, grade placement, the need for additional support ( and the appropriate level of support), and, ultimately, whether or not we are confident that the student can succeed at NIS enough to maintain satisfactory progress.
Interest in the NIS bus service is also very high. If you are interested in registering for the school bus, and know your address in Nagoya or the area where you will be living, please contact us as soon as possible. We have maps and can send them to you via email. To register for the school bus, you need to submit the Bus Registration Form. If you have any questions regarding bus registration, please contact us.
Current and up-to date contact information is required before enrollment. Once you know your home address in Nagoya, please let us know as soon as possible. This also includes other contact information such as mobile phone numbers, new email addresses, etc.
Invoices are issued at the point of registration for all applicable tuition and fees and are payable within 14 days or before enrollment, whichever is earlier. Failure to pay within the terms of the invoice will result in the places being released for other students. More information on invoicing and payment can be found HERE.
