Goals: Our school’s policies, processes, and structures reflect our diverse community and seek to advance equitable practices that help foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.

- Professional standards and related professional growth pathways for all staff
Teaching and Learning
Goals: Our teaching and learning is underpinned by diverse perspectives and learning identities, the advancement of equity and justice, and the cultivation of belonging.
Priority Action Areas:
- Intercultural Competencies rollout
- Authenticity and representation in learning resources
- Equity of access to learning resources
- Inclusive and adaptive physical environment
Community Engagement
Goals: Our diverse community (students, staff, families, and alumni) is empowered to dialogue, build empathy, and collaborate inclusively through multiple entry points and modes of engagement.
Priority Action Areas:
- Community events
- Media content, channels, and accessibility (calendar, newsletter, social media, website, etc)
- Specific strategies to address experiences of marginalization
- Targeted capacity-building for all constituent groups
Expectation for staff: Demonstrate commitment to establishing a connection to the NIS Belonging Framework, using it to help realize the NIS vision for inclusion and belonging within our professional spheres of influence.
The NIS Belonging Framework should be read in conjunction with the JCIS Inclusion Framework, which is a common set of commitments agreed upon by JCIS member schools.
