Walkathon Ceremony
The Gr. 10 Japanese Language and Literature students hosted representatives of 14 local charitable organizations, key Walkathon sponsors, and members of the American Chamber of Commerce Japan (ACCJ) on Tuesday, Nov. 7 for a ceremony to disburse funds raised at the Walkathon held earlier this year in May. The event was able to raise a total of 4.5 million yen for local charities, and it was a pleasure to welcome many of these organizations to NIS. It was also a pleasure to have the Gr. 10 students proudly welcoming everyone and introducing each organization in proper Japanese! NIS would like to thank the many organizations for all of their work in our communities to have an impact on so many people - and also to the Gr. 10 students and Japanese department for planning and hosting this event!
