NIS Homebuilders Hard at Work!

Last week,  NIS Homebuilders returned to Pursat, Cambodia to continue work on the development of a secondary school in a rural village.  To their amazement they found the school building finished, complete with a well, proudly placed at the front of the school.  The building was alive with learning and just over 100 hundred excited students, proving that the secondary school has been a huge success within the local village.

This year’s project was to help with a second building, enabling the school to split classes (currently there are 55 in grade 7) and develop a school library.  It was such a joy to reconnect with the teachers, principal and students exchanging language, laughing and helping to lay the hardcore rubble for the floor of the new school.  The teachers were excited to receive some science equipment and, the NIS team demonstrated how the equipment worked and shared tips on how it could be used as a learning tool in the classroom.

It was an awesome trip and we would like to thank all the NIS families for their generous contributions over the past year helping to make this trip possible.
