In their current unit covering the impact of diseases, Gr. 8 students have been learning about the Black Death and its impact on shaping social history and economic change. This week, they held a “World Health Summit”, in which students were divided into groups to present as medical experts on a specific disease such as Dengue Fever, Malaria, Ebola and Influenza, and had a very intense debate with the end-goal of receiving funds for research and prevention for the diseases.
