Extended Learning Trips
The entire Secondary School was away from campus for parts of this week on “Extended Learning” trips - learning experiences outside of the classroom over an extended period of time. The Gr. 6 students went to Chiba, Gr. 7 explored Norikura (Gifu), Gr. 8 visited Nagasaki, Gr. 9 went to Kanazawa, Gr. 10 visited Tokyo, and Gr. 11 experienced Zen at Eiheiji Temple in Fukui. Each trip was designed to allow for classroom experiences beyond the boundaries of the NIS campus and apply what they have been studying in a real world interdisciplinary context, and also to be exposed to the rich history, nature and culture of Japan.
