DP Theatre Workshop

"A sense of unity can be achieved in any group..." This was proven on Thursday in our first full day DP Theatre workshop. Gr. 11 and 12 DP theatre students welcomed Theatre in Education practitioner Neil Farrelly on to campus to work with them all day in the Multi-Purpose Hall. We explored new and creative ways to build theatre from simple ideas. Students collaborated throughout the day, building confidence and developing relationships, to play, to have fun and to create through devising exercises.

As their teacher I was blown away by how much students grew throughout the day with their imaginations and creativity. Being able to welcome visiting artists back on campus is a vital and rewarding experience for our students. Watching students build confidence and belief in their abilities and ideas was inspiring. A big thank you to Neil for opening their minds to a world of possibilities. I cannot wait to see what they create in our future DP Theatre lessons. - Jenny Duffy (MYP Drama and DP Theatre teacher)
