Creativity on Display

Students were entertained all day on Thursday as Grades 6 - 9 took to the stage of the MPH to show off their music skills with a variety of performances from classics like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” to the contemporary with the theme from “Friends” and anime-inspired hits! It was a wonderful culmination of their music studies for the second half of this challenging school year where signing has been kept to a minimum, but the ukelele reigned! Middle school drama students also showcased their learning with an entertaining variety of genres and performances that demonstrated a lot more than just acting skills. From silent movies that conveyed strong social justice messaging to the intriguing scenes of an abridged  Macbeth performance, the students had a chance to portray their lighting, sound, and cinematography skills. The use of all of these elements lent to the dramatic or comedic effect of their finished products, entertaining their captive audiences of classmates and teachers. Films created by the Drama classes are available on YouTube.
