PYP Exhibition

Gr. 5 students celebrated the culmination of weeks of hard work with their PYP Exhibition held this week. They started with a few special guests on Wednesday and then welcomed the entire school on Thursday. To highlight their learning, guests to the exhibit started in the school's lobby in the “Inspire” Zone, a gallery of self-portraits and items such as sculptures, videos, and poster presentations of their projects. From there, people moved through to the “Inquire” Zone in the library to learn about the thinking process that the Gr. 5 students went through to arrive at their project theme and the action they wanted to take (Riddle: What do you get when you cross an interest with an issue?? Answer: ask a Gr. 5 student!). Finally, people were treated to wonderful presentations of the student’s works in the “Inquire” Zone located in the Annex. The students presented on various issues and what actions they took to help their communities both within NIS and outside. There was so much to learn! Parents attending the Elementary Information session will have a chance to view the Exhibition on Friday and Gr. 5 Parents on Saturday, capping a great week of celebrating Gr. 5 students and this culmination of their Elementary learning!
