Gr.2 Forces and Motion
For their unit How The World Works, the Gr. 2 students were asked to design a Rube Goldberg machine that would include at least two different types of simple machines, such as a ramp, screw, wedge, pulley, lever, and/or wheel and axle. The challenge was to have a marble roll through the machine from top to bottom without the help of their hands. The Gr. 2's then explained the connection between each simple device and the type of force it created to get the desired motion.
