Continuing with the student developed plans for a week to celebrate our international community, NIS honored the UN-designated Mother Tongue Day on Tuesday with activities led by our Home Language Club leaders. The leaders spread out around the school to set up stations for engaging learning experiences and games for Primary students. Students used "boarding passes" to cross several continents in just one morning! They departed from Japan and successively flew to South Korea, China, Germany, Spain, and Brazil. Led by the ‘local’ HLC leaders, they participated in traditional games among the children. It was a day to celebrate learning about the many cultures and languages that make up our NIS family and a great way for the older students to share with the younger students their skills and knowledge!
