Climate Action March

NIS students joined students from around the world to participate in a Climate Strike and march in Sakae last weekend. The strike is a part of global strike planned to coincide with the UN Climate Action Summit. Although the turnout was smaller than expected and the impact may not appear to be big, it was very successful and their hope was to put pressure on global leaders to change their policies and take climate action. They also reflected on the day and realized that there is a lack of awareness in the Japanese community as the march consisted mostly of foreign students. NIS students felt the need to continue spreading awareness across all generations in the community.
