The NIS community celebrated the opening of the school year with the annual “Welcome Potluck” which has been a tradition for nearly three decades. This year’s potluck on Sept. 6 was a special one, however, as the school gathered not only to welcome families and staff new to our community, but also to recognize our 60th anniversary! A time-capsule installation with the Gr. 4 started off the evening, and the new historical timeline mural was also unveiled. As a part of the activities, Head of School Mr. Parr announced the winning design for the new dolphin mascot before leading the community in a ‘Happy Birthday’ song with birthday cake for all! We thank the FSA (Family Staff Association) for their hard work to support the event, and to all the parents who were able to join that evening!
