Tohoku Photo Exhibition

Though March and the 10th Anniversary of the Tohoku triple disasters have now given way to the renewal of April, Japanese Language students are using their Unit of Inquiry on Sharing the planet and reflecting on natural disasters. Tohoku, and the aftermath of what happened on March 11, 2011, is a focal point, but the students have curated a mini-exhibit of thought- and emotion-provoking photos of natural disasters from around Japan, captured by Asahi Shimbun (newspaper) photographers. By creating the exhibit and reflecting on the many uncomfortable images, the students can connect to the areas of their Unit of Inquiry, expand their knowledge, and hone their communication skills. They have curated the exhibit for the entire school and it will run through Wednesday, April 14. They hope that many people will come to the Wing Building hallway to view the exhibit!
