NIS Model United Nations

NIS High School Model United Nations (MUN) students simulated a UN General Assembly on Friday. Delegates were designated a country and represented the perspective of that nation on a predetermined topic. Students created draft resolutions to debate, and throughout the process, they are learning the value of diplomacy, negotiation, and compromise in order to seek realistic solutions to problems challenging our world. Delegates debated two topics: 'The question of the impact of technology on the quality and quantity of jobs' and 'The question of cyber-surveillance on civilians'. Delegates voted on special awards given for Outstanding Delegate, (skillful) Diplomacy, and (skillful) Procedure. The award winners and photos will be announced at a future assembly.
