Marching for Change

Last Friday, members of our NIS Cli-mates and Global Issues Network clubs joined local Japanese high school student leader S. Nakamura and “Fridays for Future Nagoya“ in a march around Sakae demanding that Nagoya’s political, business and institutional leaders declare a climate emergency and take urgent action to reduce carbon emissions. This comes after the UN Secretary-General recently said that “the point of no return is no longer over the horizon’, and the city of Nagoya recorded a slight increase in emissions last year. Through meetings with school administration and others, Cli-mates is also trying to find ways for NIS to improve its carbon performance as well. Please email your ideas to .
