This week, students from Gr. 3 to Gr. 7 took 3 MAP® Growth™ tests from NWEA® (Language, Maths, and Reading). MAP Growth tests provide immediate and accurate information about students' learning, and their scores help teachers check student performance by measuring achievement and growth. Teachers will then use results to tailor classroom lessons and set goals for students.
MAP Growth tests are unique, as it adapts to each student's responses to measure their skill level. If a student answers a question correctly, the next question is more challenging. If they answer incorrectly, the next one is easier. These results will provide a complete picture of what each student knows and is ready to learn and will be used alongside other data and observations to form a full view of each student as a learner.
Students in Gr. 3 - 7 take the tests in September and then again in April each school year. Following each testing period, parents will receive a Family Report showing a summary of how their child is performing academically.
We are excited that MAP Growth tests help us focus on our students' individual growth and achievements and enhance their learning!
