International Women's Week at NIS

In an effort to highlight the United Nations designated International Women’s Day on Friday, March 8, NIS hosted a week of events to raise awareness related to the issues women face and to celebrate prominent achievements by incredible women around the world. There were numerous activities through the week, which included lunchtime presentations on such themes as feminism, intersectionality and democracy. These culminated in a panel discussion on Friday to address students’ questions revolving around these topics. In addition, large interactive display boards were placed in the main lobby to involve the entire school in thinking about what International Women’s Day means and why it is important.
